Hostel One. Of their locations in BCN I think I like the Sants one the best but they’re all special in their own way (I’ve stayed at Paralelo, Ramblas on different trips but not the newest one called Batlló). I still keep in touch with some of the people I’ve met there.

I just had a reunion trip earlier this month in BCN with a friend I met at Hostel One Catedral-Seville 4 years ago.

Have to second Hostel One. I stayed at Hostel One Sants over there and had a great time. Super social place with their dinners and evening group activities. Plus they go hit up the bar and clubs at night if you want to party. It’s super easy to make new friends there with all that.

I stayed at the Sant Jordi Alburg and really enjoyed it. The room I was in had a cool balcony as well. I also like how the hostel organizes nightlife events so, especially traveling solo, you’ll always have something to do and you’ll have a group of people from your hostel going out.

The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was there was no ensuite bathroom. Toilets and showers were separate from the dorm rooms, so it was a bit of a hassle taking all your stuff out of your room and into the shower room. Not too big of a deal, but just one of those personal preferences I have.

I stayed at Paralelo in summer ’19 and it was great – really social atmosphere with the group dinners followed by drinking games and then going out with all people from the other Hostel One locations. The people working there were really friendly and the travelers were a good mix of ages/nationalities (although was predominantly Aussies and Brits). I think its biggest strength is the location – very close to public transit, also near one of the best streets full of tapas/pinxtos restaurants, and also a reasonable distance from night life stuff.

Can’t speak for the current situation though so your mileage may vary…have a great trip!
