Metropolitan City of Venice

Written by Nadia Podrabinek

Venice is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Italy.
If you go with an open mind and are prepared for potential drawbacks such as higher prices and more tourists, you won’t be let down.
Take a relaxing trip on a gondola through the canals or just take a boat ride across the central lagoon; explore winding alleys, marvel at Piazza San Marco, visit CafĂ© Florian (where Casanova famously charmed his many female admirers), climb to the top of St Mark’s bell tower – if there’s time – even sail over to Murano island; it’ll be love at first sight!
