Spend a short and relaxing break in the luxurious Parador de Cuenca, with excellent views of the famous hanging houses, set across from the hotel.

The Parador de Cuenca is in a wonderful location, with views of the Hanging Houses and a quick walk across the bridge to the Old City. The rooms are good sized and the beds comfortable. The bathroom had everything we needed. Our safe wasn't working and the maintenance staff showed up within 15 minutes to fix it. Be sure to eat in the restaurant - food was delicious.

Great location right near Plaza Mayor. Staff friendly and helpful. Decent restaurant/breakfast place attached. Room was a good size - we asked for a room on a higher floor with a view.

The place is accessible from the main road - at first, the navigation lead us through small roads in the forest - avoid them in case you are lead the same (wrong) path :)
It was quite cold outside but we had a thermostat in the apartment so we could heat the room up.

Location, rooms were excellent, breakfast was lovely
The fortressed town of Cuenca is a hidden gem in the province of Castilla La Mancha and is a popular destination for tourists visiting Madrid or Valencia.
Cuenca is best represented in its medieval old town as well as the unique Hanging Houses (Las Casas Colgadas) which stand aloft on one of the deep canyons surrounding the city, and show a prime example of the common housing of 15th-century Cuenca.
Upon visiting the Old Town you will be welcomed by the remains of an ancient Arab fortress, El Castillo along with the chiming bells of Mangana Tower.
There is a variety of art galleries and restaurants which are situated in the newer side of town, whilst popular places to see are the Cuenca Cathedral, Museum of Spanish Abstract Art and the Archaeological Museum.
Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options near landmarks such as Cuenca train station and Parque de San Julián.
Beautiful old town .
Great restaurants in the "Castillo " area. Good food and fair prices.
Zig zag curious by lanes ,entwining with main street with fantastic views on the one side River Jucar on the other River Huecar. The hanging houses , the Beautiful Cathedral etc...
In my opinion a must if you are in the centre of Spain. Very close to Madrid.

Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip.
Cuenca old town is a must in any Spain trip. We were so fortunate to experience Holy Week festivities and to share with the locals. In addition, we experience intermittent snow which was a wonderful experience. The old town is a jewel with many options to get lost through the streets and to meet locals.

I like to see old historic cities ...even if the "glory days" are over. Cuenca does not disappoint on this count. The cathedral is a magnificent example of this as it is beautifully decorated in parts and equally shows evidence of being somewhat dilapidated structurally..in certain parts.
The "hanging house' theme is a little overworked but it is still very interesting to see what is left of them.
It's sheer geographical location is what surprised me most. The public transport system up and down between the new and old town is very efficient.
I stayed 2 nights...I could easily have stayed 3 to have 2 full days to explore a little more...assuming you can manage the walking...it is rarely flat...you are either climbing or descending usually and it's often quite steep!
I ate at the Piola Gastrobar, which shares the building with the Hotel Convento just up from the main Plaza Mayor. An excellent restaurant in my opinion.

Absolutely wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was excellent.Dining room was nice, but why would anyone eat there when they will serve you in the beautiful courtyard by the fountain! Pool area is nice, and staffed with a lifeguard. Helpful hint: request a room with a bridge view. We did, and it was gorgeous.

Cuenca is a historical gem tucked away a little bit in the middle of nowhere which makes it an oasis of peace. If you wish to escape for awhile from the hustle of modern life Cuenca is the right place to visit. Lots of history next to beautiful nature. Delicious food and friendly Spanish people.
My stay in Cuenca was last minute as another plan had not materialised. This was my first visit. I wanted a central location with good transport links to access the rail station and local attractions. This hotel is ideally located in the centre, near bus stops and the main shopping street. I made several visits to the delightful old town and was able to make use of the 7th floor restaurant with its panoramic views. The facilities of the hotel were in keeping with the price.
Really beautifully located near the bridge over the valley which connects the old city of Cuenca. The parador has a swimming pool and indoor carpark. The courtyard is a perfect place to have a drink or bite. The room, my daughter and I occupied, was really spacious with a separate bathroom and doors separating the areas creating a small hallway. The sauna was also very comfortable after a day of walking around the old town and nature around it.
Clean, spacious room. Views are probably great from up there but we had a room with no views so I can't say. Breakfast was great, with lots of options for all tastes and they accommodate food allergies too. There's a bar and a restaurant in the hotel (the restaurant is one of the best rated in Cuenca). Perfectly working double heating (central and electric) for these cold days. Staff were very kind and helpful.
Fabulous hotel within an 18th century seminary. Spotless modern room with large comfortable double bed. We paid a small amount extra for a view and it was really worth it. The fact that they include breakfast (in a fantastic dining room) makes the price even better value. Cuenca is a wonderful place to visit and stay and this hotel is the icing on the cake.
This apartment had all the luxuries of home. Extremely well appointed in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to most major places of interest. A very lovely apartment with an extremely helpful host.
Cuenca is a phenomenal city and very close by train to Madrid.
Excellent location - and what a fabulous town Cuenca is. Underground carpark is 100m away. €14 with hotel discount. This is an old building - with character. Staff showed me the walking route to the main square on the hilltop.
What a cute place! Everything was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was great and the sitting area even had a fireplace. If I am ever back in Cuenca, this is where I am staying.
The friendly informative staff. The beautifully appointed rooms. The great views. The lady who took care of us at the cafeteria was exceptional. She makes the best tinto de veranos and was very attentive.
We could park our camper outside the hotel on the street for free. We could walk into the old town in under 30 minutes. The manageress supplied a map and guided us to the places we wanted to visit.
Lovely quiet, tranquil hotel, with communal leisure and catering facilities. Very homely. Good location and excellent value. We only had one night, but it would be a good place for a longer stay.
I was travelling by motorcycle and the hotel was able to offer an option for private parking which was great for me.
Checking in and out was easy and quick.
An early breakfast time suited me.
Perfect location just outside the old town. Got great advice on where to walk and how to get the best views of Cuenca. Really great stay. My room had a desk and the heating was lovely.
Hotel was walking distance to all the things we wanted to see—between the more touristy old town and the more contemporary part of town. Room was just fine, nothing special.
This hotel is well located in the centre of the city overlooking a very nice shaded park, and only a five minute walk from the main coomercial/restaurant area.
